Eric Dubois-Geoffroy discovered photography at the age of 11 when his father, passionate about photography, has offered to me a Lubitel format 6 X 6.

His father introduced him to the development and argentic printing in the laboratory installed in the basement of our house. Then in high school, he realized his first photographic series by crossing the Le Mans city suburb, to meet its inhabitants irrespective of whether they come from Turkey, from various Maghreb countries, from Sarthe area. From this first experience dates his passion for portraiture. Black and white becomes the visual space of choice for its photographic expression.

His father shared also with him his passion for art with him. From countless museum visits in France and in Italy, date his passion for Piero della Francesca, Raphael, impressionism, surrealism.

He participated in the creation of a startup in the field of digital multimedia in the mid-90s in Brittany. He trained in studio photography, advertising photography, the first forms of artistic expression in the digital field on CD-ROM. He experiments several interactive and artistic digital expression projects, staging photography in digital collages and animations, associating literary texts interpreted by comedians and original music.

His experience in the creation of digital multimedia works, enabled him to manage several large digital publishing projects within the Jouve Group, with French and European publishers. He developed several concepts of augmented multimedia books for Nathan and Hachette editions.

Since 2016, he has pursued his photographic adventure as a trainer in the field of digital image and as photographer artist.

He joined the OPENEYE web magazine team in May 2018, in charge of monitoring the galleries. He created a web TV for the magazine on Youtube and in 2019 carried out more than 90 interviews of photographers and gallery owners, at Lille ArtUp, in Metz « Photographie mon amour », in Arles, in Photo Doc, Paris Photo, Fotofever. Since September 2019, he has been vice-president of the OPENEYE association.

Eric Dubois-Geoffroy découvre la photographie dès l’âge de 11 ans quand son père, passionné de photographie, lui offre un Lubitel en format 6 X 6.

Son père l’initie au tirage sur papier dans le laboratoire installé au sous-sol de la maison familiale. Puis lycéen, il réalise ses premières séries photographiques en parcourant les cités du Mans sud, à la rencontre de ses habitants originaires de Turquie, du Maghreb, de la Sarthe. De cette première expérience date sa passion pour le portrait. Le noir et blanc devient l’espace visuel de prédilection de son expression photographique.

Son père lui fait partager sa passion pour l’art. Des innombrables visites de musée en France et en Italie, date sa passion pour Piero della Francesca, Raphaël, l’impressionnisme, le surréalisme.

Il participe à la création d’une startup dans le domaine du multimédia numérique au milieu des années 90 en Bretagne. Il se forme à la photo de studio, à la photographie publicitaire, aux premières formes d’expressions artistiques dans le domaine du numérique sur cédérom. Il expérimente plusieurs projets d’expression numérique interactive et artistique mettant en scène la photographie, dans des collages et animations numériques, associant textes littéraires interprétés par des comédiens et musiques originales.

Son expérience dans la création d’œuvres numériques multimédia lui permet de gérer plusieurs grands projets d’éditions numériques au sein du Groupe Jouve, auprès des éditeurs français et européens. Il développe plusieurs concepts de livres multimédias augmentés pour les éditions Nathan et Hachette.

Depuis 2016, il poursuit son aventure photographique en tant que formateur dans le domaine de l’image numérique et artiste photographe.
