Fascinated since childhood by the world of the laboratory, I went from photogravure to photography.
Around 1980 an exhibition on pictorialism at the City Hall of Paris changed my notions about photographic printing. This gave me the opportunity to meet an old man who was too happy to find an open ear … I don’t recall his name, but he had the keys of the S.F.P. and for 2 days he opened the boxes of the pictorialists to describe to me the characteristics of certain processes.
Shortly after, meeting with Helmut Newton took me back to a more traditional laboratory work wich lasted until his passing. Since then June Brunell, Newton’s wife, entrusted me with the realization of 3 exhibitions for the Newton Foundation in Berlin and another exhibition at the M.E.P., all them digital.
Meanwhile, starting in 2005, I began a photographic tribute to Edouard Baldus, the inventor of the photographic assemblage in 1851. Then, I extended the work to the whole Heliographic Mission.

Vers 1980 une exposition sur le pictorialisme à la mairie de Paris bouleverse mes notions sur le tirage photographique. Ce qui me donne l’occasion de rencontrer un vieux monsieur trop content de trouver un auditeur … je ne sais plus son nom, mais il avait les clefs de la S.F.P. et durant 2 jours il m’a ouvert les boites des Pictorialistes pour me décrire les caractéristiques de certains procédés.
Peu de temps après, la rencontre avec Helmut Newton me remet au laboratoire plus classique et cela jusqu’à sa disparition. Depuis, June Brunel, son épouse, m’a confié la réalisation de 3 expositions pour la fondation à Berlin et une autre exposition a la M.E.P., le tout en numérique.
Dans le même temps depuis 2005, j’ai entrepris un travail photographique en hommage à Edouard Baldus, l’inventeur de l’assemblage de photographies en 1851. Puis, j’ai étendu le travail à l’ensemble de la Mission Héliographique.
